Play a Football Position and Party Right Super Bowl Sunday

There is quite a bit of partying and drinking when it comes to football season. A great sport celebrated with hopeful teams making the Super Bowl. Such was not the case with the Dallas Cowboys but they had a good season.
Still, football and beer go hand in hand as most guys will tell you. So as you prepare for the big Super Bowl, do yourself a Texas sized favor even though Texas does not have a team going all the way this year: do not drink and drive.
Every NFL team has its share of die hard fans and every Super Bowl is watched enthusiastically whether your team is in the game or not. So let’s use some football lingo to make you understand how important it is to act responsible.
Play defense, not offense. Think about the fact that after that party, you plan to go home. Set up a car pool with a designated driver. Take a taxi.
Play Quarterback. If you are the host of this year’s Super Bowl party? Take the keys at the beginning and allow people to stay over if they do not have a sober driver. It is your job to communicate right and wrong to your team and you are in control of the ball. Pass the proper signals on to your guests and have a party to remember because it was a great game, not because someone drove away drunk and caused an accident.
Play Running Back. Help the host out by making sure there is a designated driver set up for your trip home. Make sure the wives are there or that they are treated to a nice dinner or movie out with paid babysitting set up and then they can just swing back by and pick you guys up on the way home. A little common sense can make or break the game.
Play Wide Receiver. Seriously, guys, it is the highlight of the football season but you want to make sure you are around next year because you just know that Dallas or the Texans are going to give it a go, right? So make sure you are not receiving too much. Give the alcohol a wide berth and do not guzzle down one right after the other, okay?
Play Tight End. BE the designated driver. Start a tradition of taking turns and man up as the tight end this year and be the one who declares himself the responsible driver. Have everyone agree to take turns and this year you volunteer as the tight end designated driver. Then next year, when the “boys” go, you can party while someone else is playing tight end. Smart move on your part, don’t you think?
