Texas has a long history of perseverance, leadership and pride, dating back even before the fight at the Alamo. One thing it did not wish to have a lead in was the problem of prescription drug addiction. Still, as easy as it is to get prescription drugs in a variety of ways, it is no wonder that this has become a problem not only in Texas but just about everywhere.

There are people who truly suffer from chronic illnesses and physical pain who do require prescription medications. However, even they can find themselves becoming addicted to their prescription and taking higher dosages closer together so that they are going back for refills much quicker than medically warranted.

Doctors and pharmacies try to keep track of such indications of addiction but sometimes a patient can switch out physicians and drugstores and the information is not always readily available to raise a red flag. Not only that, but with the internet now giving access to many cyber-pharmacies, there are more and more problems arising with drug addiction.
